What are your responsibilities in this role?
Managing both qualitative and quantitative fieldwork projects from commission to delivery and ensuring their smooth running from start to finish.
How did you get into the Market Research industry?
I would love to say that it was a very well thought out career path, but in truth I fell into the Market Research Industry when a family friend offered me the chance to try something new. Right from the start I loved everything about the Industry, from the fast-paced nature of the job, to the wide range of well-known brands I had the chance to work with, and the day to day organisation of exciting projects.
What experience do you bring to this role?
I joined the Market Research Industry in 2010 and gained 4 years’ experience working as a Fieldwork Manager.
After the birth of my little girl in 2014 I changed direction for a few years working in a Contract Manager role. However, the pull of the market research Industry was too hard to resist, and I was very excited to join the BEAM team in Autumn 2018.
Are you currently working on any exciting projects?
In my very first week at BEAM I worked on several projects ranging from an online community of Hairdressers for one of the biggest cosmetic companies in the world, to Automotive focus groups based in Germany.
One of my favourite things about the job is the fact that every project is so different and each one brings its own unique challenges.
What type of clients are you working closely with at the moment?
I am currently working with a wide range of customers in varying industries; Automotive, Cosmetics, Education and Food & Drink.
Are there any emerging trends in the Market Research Industry that you think could make a big difference?
A big change I’ve seen during my time working in the industry is a move from face to face interview methods to technological mediation such as Digital ethnographies. Researchers no longer need to be co-located to respondents to get into their minds and understand their lifestyles. Online platforms now allow researchers the ability to meet people from different countries and cultures who may have been unreachable via traditional methods.
Tell us more about yourself, what do you like to do outside of work?
When I’m not working, first and foremost I am Mummy to the most beautiful little girl on this planet. We do ballet classes, go to the park, go swimming…the list never ends.
I love getting outside for a run, spending time in the gym or enjoying a rare moment of peace at Yoga. However, none of this beats a Sunday roast with friends and family, and an obligatory glass of wine (or two).
